Strong sales mark successful 2010 for Woodforest(Montgomery, TX – June 2010)
The momentum hasn’t stopped since more than 4,100 people visited Woodforest during the community’s recent grand opening celebration. The new Montgomery County development has logged more than 50 home sales, including two custom showcase homes that were on tour during the grand opening.
“We’ve had a great first quarter, in terms of both the number of people visiting the community and the number of homes sold,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest.
Builders have been busy in the wooded community, with 25 homes either completed or nearly ready for move-in. And in celebration of the grand opening, most of the builders are offering buyer incentives or a bonus to the selling agent — or both.
“Realtors have been very interested in our community, with more than 65 percent of first-quarter sales involving Realtors,” Yoakum said. “Realtors I’ve spoken to have been excited about the great opportunity they see in Woodforest — a master plan with abundant amenities, a prime location near shopping and dining, a natural landscape and undeniable value. You can buy more home for your money here.”
Building in Woodforest are D.R. Horton, Pulte Homes, Plantation Homes, Highland Homes and Newmark Homes. Prices start in the $190,000s. Custom homebuilders include Jeff Paul Custom Homes, George Weaver, Inc. and Meadowlark Homes.
Each of the custom builders showcased million-dollar homes during the grand opening, which was themed “The American Dream Showcase of Homes.” In addition to custom home and model home tours, the event included activities to evoke the simpler times of yesteryear, such as contests in kite flying, bubble gum blowing and sidewalk chalk drawing, as well as balloon artists, a bounce house and face painting. Visitors were invited to submit names for the community spray ground, and classic cars added to the “days gone by” atmosphere. Plus, event-goers visiting Woodforest’s model homes had a chance for many door prizes, including a Dream Day spa getaway donated by Highland Homes, a Wii donated by Plantation Homes, a $500 Best Buy gift card by D.R. Horton, and a weekend getaway for two in Fredericksburg, Texas, donated by Newmark Homes, with two nights at a bed and breakfast and two tickets to a wine-tasting event.
