Woodforest welcomes hundreds to D.R. Horton, Hot On! Homes event

 (Montgomery, TX – January 2010)
Nearly 600 Realtors, local dignitaries and residents were hot on Woodforest last month as they visited the community for a home tour extravaganza, $10,000 in prizes and a chance to be on television.

Hosted by Woodforest, D.R. Horton Homes and Hot On! Homes, the Jan. 20 event showcased the builder’s model and 13 new homes available in the community, located just five miles north of The Woodlands and six miles south of Conroe. Realtors and other guests supped on food and wine and had a chance to tour D.R. Horton’s mix of homes in Woodforest as well as be interviewed by the Hot On! Homes film crew for a show to be aired in February.

Plus, Realtors had a chance to win one of 100 prizes, a mix of items — designer purses, restaurant gift cards, iPod shuffles, a big screen television and $1,000, totaling $10,000.

“It was a big day for Woodforest and D.R. Horton. We had the opportunity to show what we offer in the community and what we have planned,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest. “And a big thanks goes to Hot On! Homes for their support in helping host this event.”

D.R. Horton builds on both 55-foot and 65-foot homesites in Woodforest. Base prices are from the $190,000s on 55-foot homesites and from the $280,000s on the larger properties. In addition to the 13 completed homes on tour during the event, D.R. Horton is planning another 12 inventory homes, with the first two starting soon.

“At D.R. Horton, we like to say we’ve already built your home, you just need to come find it,” D.R. Horton sales representative Dustin Dye said. “Plus, prospective buyers have shown strong interest in Woodforest and we think as people discover the great value offered in the community, there will be even more homebuyers. For example, you can spend literally tens of thousands dollars more on the identical home just a few short miles from here.”

Woodforest offers homes priced from the $190,000s to more than $1 million, with many homesites in the heavily wooded 3,000-acre community bordering lakes, nature preserves and the Woodforest Golf Club, which features 27 holes contoured with towering pine trees and old-growth oaks common to the Northwest Houston landscape.

Woodforest’s master plan calls for 5,500 homes as well as retail and commercial properties, places of worship and on-site schools. Approximately 700 acres in Woodforest are dedicated to parks, open spaces and recreation areas, as well as various sports fields.
