Live, work and play — Tom Martty is doing it all in WoodforestWoodforest’s 25th home buyer is a familiar face in and around the community.
Tom Martty, general manager of Woodforest Golf Club made the community’s final home purchase of 2009, bringing the total number of homes sold since last May (when builders started actively selling in the new community) to 25.
“Woodforest has a style and atmosphere that is really appealing,” Martty said. “Plus, we wanted to live in a new community and Woodforest is doing an excellent job of keeping the streets and surrounding areas pristine despite quite a bit of construction. We’re very impressed.”
Martty said he and his wife, Cindy, had been discussing a move from The Woodlands in an attempt to downsize, since they are empty-nesters. They hadn’t started looking seriously, however, when Martty saw the home in Woodforest and decided to take a look.
“It’s a great house and a good location within the community,” Martty said. “We both just fell in love with the house, even though we’re not exactly downsizing. The price was right and we decided to move right away.”
Martty is not the only person with close ties to Woodforest who has decided to live there. Ryan Paul, a construction manager with Jeff Paul Custom Homes, purchased a custom homesite in Elk Reserve earlier in 2009.
“Our family decided to become Woodforest residents because all signs point to exceptional development,” Paul said. “Everything in Woodforest's master plan has quality of living, value, fun, and everyday satisfaction written all over it and we wanted our family to be a part of that for an extremely long time. Plus, while still being within acceptable driving distance from The Woodlands, Houston and Conroe, Woodforest also offers more elbow room than many surrounding communities.”
