Woodforest Adds Highland Homes to Builder Line-Up(Montgomery, TX – Oct. 14, 2009)
Woodforest continues to grow, adding another new builder, Highland Homes. Highland Homes, which started operations in the Johnson Development community this week, follows the recent addition of D.R. Horton, the nation’s second-largest homebuilder.
With construction on a model home scheduled to begin this month, Highland is offering 13 plans in Woodforest, including two new designs. Plans will range from 3,000 to 4,300 square feet with base prices from the $280,000s. Highland will build on 70-foot homesites in Woodforest’s Monarch Park neighborhood, which is served by the Montgomery Independent School District. Premier wooded homesites are available, including oversized and cul-de-sac properties.
The builder is currently operating out of the Woodforest Welcome Lodge. “Woodforest has everything a buyer could want — a great location near retail, highly acclaimed schools and a top-tier developer in The Johnson Development Corp.,” said Highland sales manager Jaime Patterson. “The addition of Highland Homes expands our product offerings in Montgomery ISD,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest. “Along with Newmark Homes, we are now able to offer a wide range of prices in the district, which is a favorite among buyers.”
Founded in 1985, Highland Homes builds approximately 2,500 homes annually throughout Texas and is consistently ranked among the top 40 new homebuilders in the country. Recently, Highland Homes received the 2009 Excellence in Energy Performance Award for building 28 percent above minimum Energy Star specifications. Oncor Electric Delivery, the largest distributor in Texas, presented the award.
In addition to Highland, D.R. Horton and Newmark, Woodforest builders include Pulte Homes and Plantation Homes. Designs are base-priced from the $190,000s to $420,000s and are as large as 5,300 square feet. Custom builders George Weaver, Inc., Jeff Paul Custom Homes, Meadowlark Homes and Wendell Custom Homes also offer homes in Woodforest and are working on several plans priced up to $1.7 million.
A project of The Johnson Development Corp., the newly opened Woodforest surrounds Woodforest Golf Club and is just minutes from the many entertainment and shopping attractions in South Montgomery County, only seven miles from Interstate 45 and just six miles from the outdoor recreation of Lake Conroe. Builders have opened model homes in the wooded community and are actively selling homes. The community’s first amenities also have opened.
As development continues, Woodforest residents will enjoy on-site schools and convenient on-site retail, including a suburban marketplace with clusters of shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and residential areas within walking distance of one other.
