Builders tout strong presence in new Woodforest


Rooftops are becoming prevalent through the new community of Woodforest, as builders work on inventory homes and sales continue in this south Montgomery County development. 

Custom builders George Weaver, Inc., Jeff Paul Custom Homes, Meadowlark Homes and Wendell Custom Homes are each working on homes, priced from $1.1 to $1.6 million and ranging in size up to 6,600 square feet. Woodforest has two custom neighborhoods in Phase 1 development, Elk Reserve, with only 24 homesites, all staged around two lakes, and Elk Trace, with 32 homesites average 130 by 330 feet.  

Most properties in Elk Trace border Woodforest Golf Club, one of the area’s most popular golf courses, with more than 48,000 rounds of golf played there last year. Plantation offers 17 designs in Woodforest, ranging in size from 2,664 square feet to 3,700 square feet. Prices start in the $270,000s. The builder also offers premium standard amenities, such as granite countertops and maple cabinetry in the kitchen and master bath, as well as a full sprinkler system and a pest control system that applies exterminating materials directly into walls.  

Newmark Homes also has an extensive plan list for Woodforest, with 11 designs ranging from 3,084 to 4,717 square feet. Base pricing is from the $360,000s.
