Woodforest Announces “Discovery Day”(Montgomery, TX – June 11, 2009)
The new Johnson Development community of Woodforest is introducing itself in a big way, with an activity-packed day designed to entertain the public. Woodforest’s “Discovery Day” is set for 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27. Visitors can start their expedition at the community’s Welcome Lodge, a 4,300-square-foot custom home overlooking Woodforest Golf Club, by picking up a trail map that will direct them through the community. As they follow the “Discovery Trail,” event-goers will enjoy an array of activities, including face-painting, the creative twists of an animal balloonist, free ice cream treats, a petting zoo and more. Also on tap are free concessions and a disc jockey. Plus, as they tour the model homes, visitors can have entry cards stamped for a chance to win a $2,500 Home Depot gift card. Children can also collect goodies at each stop and the first 100 children will receive free Woodforest binoculars. And for adults, there will be plenty of chances to win a variety of door prizes, such as gift certificates to local retailers and restaurants.
Pulte Homes, Plantation Homes and Newmark Homes have fully decorated models open in Woodforest, as well as completed inventory homes. Base pricing ranges from the $210,000s to $420,000s, with homes as large as 5,300 square feet.
In addition, custom builders George Weaver, Inc., Jeff Paul Custom Homes, Meadowlark Homes and Wendell Custom Homes have started construction on showcase homes priced from $1.1 to $1.7 million and visitors are encouraged to take a peek.
The first of many planned recreational amenities also are open, including lakes and Monarch Park, a neighborhood park with butterfly-themed playground equipment. In addition, plans are under way for Forest Island, a multi-million-dollar recreation complex that will include multiple pools and water slides, playgrounds, tennis courts, a clubhouse, a pavilion with an outdoor fireplace and more.
Woodforest’s master plan also calls for on-site schools, with the first campus expected to open in 2012. Woodforest is served by Conroe Independent School District, which already has purchased a tract of land for the new school, and the Montgomery Independent School District. As development continues, Woodforest residents will enjoy convenient on-site retail, including a suburban marketplace with clusters of shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and residential areas within walking distance of each other.
A project of The Johnson Development Corp., Woodforest surrounds Woodforest Golf Club and is just minutes from the many entertainment and shopping attractions in South Montgomery County, only seven miles from Interstate 45 and just six miles from the outdoor recreation of Lake Conroe.
