Woodforest

Woodforest's master land plan takes advantage of the development's lush environmental characteristics, including gently rolling terrain heavily forested with hardwood trees, rippling creeks and 500 acres that will be preserved in their natural state for passive recreational uses. Woodforest is a Houston golf community like no other, surrounding one of the area's top-ranked daily-fee golf courses  - the 27-hole Steve Elkington-designed Woodforest Golf Course. Thus, residents will enjoy homesites adjacent to lakes, streams, greenbelts, nature preserves and 27 holes of championship golf.

Amenities will include a first-class tennis and aquatics center, children's splash pad, hike-and-bike trails, nature trails, sports fields, parks and green spaces similar to other Houston master-planned communities launched by Johnson Development.

The master plan provides for a community with approximately 5,500 residential units, retail and commercial properties, places of worship, on-site schools and a fire station. The heavily wooded property includes over 29 acres lakes and streams, and the plan incorporates over 700 acres of green belts, nature preserves, open spaces and a 27-hole golf course. By the end of 2008, 240 home sites in the first phase of the development are scheduled to be complete and ready for builders to begin construction of their model homes. These new Houston homes will be priced from the $200,000s to more than $1 million.
