Reminiscent of other Johnson Development communities, Woodforest will feature an impressive recreation complex that will be a community gathering space when it opens. Tucked within a heavily wooded 15-acre section, the Woodforest recreation center rivals the finest Houston water park, with a free-form amenity pool will provide fun for residents of all ages. The freeform borders of the pool curve to define several swim areas, creating a perception of separate pools. A slide tower and spray/water play equipment promise added enjoyment. A nearby baby pool offers safe fun for the tiniest swimmers, while those looking for exercise will enjoy the separate competition pool. The competition pool also will bring the community together as parents and friends cheer on their favorite young swimmers during swim meets. Swim team members will practice at the pool daily during swim season, competing with rival area teams for awards and bragging rights.

Seating around the pool is ample, with a nearby plaza providing a comfortable picnic spot. A massive stone fireplace not only adds character, but also allows for use of the plaza year-round.

Seven lighted tennis courts, including one tournament court with spectator seating, distinguish Woodforest from other Houston tennis communities. The recreation complex also includes a community clubhouse, with a state-of-the-art fitness facility and meeting space to accommodate small and large gatherings. Playgrounds, an amphitheater/outdoor event area and winding trails throughout complete the facility.
