Woodforest residents enjoy not only some of the finest luxury homes in Houston, but also wonderful educational opportunities. One of the area's most respected districts, Montgomery Independent School District boasts seven Exemplary-rated campuses out of a total of eight schools. Already strong TAKS scores improved in 2010, easily topping statewide comparisons in all categories. According to the district, 87 percent of its seniors are college-bound and the 1547 average SAT score is well above state averages. A strong professional staff is key to the district's success, with teachers averaging 13.8 years of teaching experience and a healthy percentage holding advanced degrees. The student-teacher ratio is 15.6 to 1. Montgomery ISD schools serving Woodforest include Lone Star Elementary, Montgomery Intermediate (5th grade), Montgomery Middle School (6th grade), Montgomery Junior High (7th and 8th grades) and Montgomery High School.
