Depending on where your new Houston home is located in Woodforest, young residents might attend Conroe ISD schools. With two-thirds of its campuses and the district itself rated Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency, Conroe ISD test-takers easily exceeded state averages on the 2010 TAKS tests, with 95 percent of students passing the reading TAKS, 91 percent passing math, 97 percent passing writing, 98 percent passing social studies and 90 percent passing science. A large percentage of students regularly achieve commended status, as many as 62 percent on the social studies portion of the TAKS test and 44 percent on the reading portions. Nearly a quarter of the district's teachers hold advanced degrees and the district's teaching staff has an average of 11.2 years of experience. The average number of students per teacher is 15.7 to 1.
In addition to academic excellence, Conroe ISD has earned high marks in the administrative arena, receiving a rating of "Superior Achievement" the state's highest ranking and thus demonstrating the quality of Conroe ISD's financial management and reporting system. The district obtained the "Superior Achievement" rating by receiving a perfect score in all tested areas.
Woodforest students in the Conroe ISD attend B.B. Rice Elementary, Cryar Intermediate (5th and 6th grades), Peet Junior High (7th and 8th grades) and Conroe High School, ranked in the top six percent of high schools nationwide by Newsweek magazine. Conroe High School holds a Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency.
